The door needs to be adjusted. You need to make close tighter you can adjust it where it latches at the top.

The likely cause of your problem is that water deposits/soap/food has built up on the gasket seal for the door, check near the bottom of the inside of the door.
Inspect the seal to make sure that it's not torn.
you can clean the gasket with viniger, CLR or any other water deposit removing products.
if gasket is torn, contact your local appliance service company

It either needs a new seal or the door needs adjusting. If you have any mechanical ability, you should be able to replace the seal or adjust the door.

you may want to check your pump, it may have grounded out, or check your discharge hose, make sure there's no obstruction in the line. to clear this out, get it sucked out using a wet/dry vacuum. or, the line going to the garbage disposal where the dishwasher hose is attached to had not been punched out (new install garbage disposal) you can try this experiment. disconnect your dishwasher hose from the garbage disposer and run the DW to see if pump is working, then you can pretty much rule out which one is the culprit. good luck

The pump motor could be defective and it could be failing to go into the reverse direction. Start the cycle from the begining. The dishwasher is designed to drain the water out as the first part of the cycle (to pump out any excess water that drips off of the rinsed dirty dishes) If you hear the motor running, the drain hose could be clogged. If it does not run before or during the filling of the machine, then the motor could be bad.

I do not know what it costs to fix these days but dishwashers are so inexpensive that its probably cheaper to buy a new one and have a repairman install it.
